Richard Murphy Architects release amended images of Haymarket redevelopment
On the 30 April 2008 there was an Amended Drawing submission by Richard Murphy Architects to Edinburgh City Council Planning for the £500 million Haymarket redevelopment project.

The Haymarket master-plan is the largest project to date that Richard Murphy Architects has taken on.  Tiger Developments approached the practice when the site was for sale and their bid was successful in the summer of 2006.

The practice’s role has been to master-plan the entire site; to design the exterior of three office buildings working alongside CDA Architects; and to design a new 180 bed five star hotel.  A second three star hotel, designed by Sutherland Hussey Architects, is also part of the RMA master-plan. The original planning application was made in September 2007

In its recent design review report, Architecture and Design Scotland  criticised the original scale and vision of the Morrison Street Goods Yard design, including its 16-storey landmark hotel.
