This year's 3DReid Student Prize, the largest run by a practice, has attracted a record number of entries with 22 nominations vying for the £1,500 first prize. Every architecture school in Scotland has submitted an entry.
Online voting has now opened giving the public the opportunity to help shape the final shortlist. The top two from the online vote and the top three as judged by an internal 3DReid judging panel will go through to the final. They will then be judged by a panel which includes Deborah Saunt from DSDHA, Richard Waite from the AJ and 3DReid’s Chairman Charles Graham-Marr.
Paul Warner, Research Director at 3DReid said: “It is a daunting task! The work is varied in scope and style but is excellent in every case. It is certainly going to be a tough job whittling down the longlist. What it demonstrates is the quality of students coming through in the UK. It is important that the industry does whatever it can to support them and give them recognition they deserve.”
