Andrew Blackwood qualified from Glasgow School of Art with an honours degree and a diploma in architecture but after several years grew disillusioned with work finding that it involved designing 'bijoux' (ie.
matchbox) residences, abbatoirs and 'big sheds'. Shortly thereafter, he was fired.
He now works across the disciplines of performance, installation and model-making with an architectural theme. Most recently, he was commissioned by the National Review of Live Art 2006 at The Tramway, Glasgow and Performance Studies International #12 at The Gallery of Utopias, London.
Mark Chalmers lives in North-eastern Scotland. He's an architect and writer who has worked on theatres, a giant wheel, and a whisky distillery- he has also written for Prospect, Leopard and A+W magazines, amongst others.
Neil Stephen took refuge in Skye after graduating from the Mack to set up an architecture practice with his brother Alasdair. As well as being a partner in Dualchas Building Design, he has recently been involved in launching Hebridean Contemporary Homes (www.hebrideanhomes.com) which aims to to take on the kithouse companies at their own game.
