The highlight of the 2004 touring programme was our participation in the 9th Venice Architecture Biennale. For the first time ever, The Lighthouse was invited by this year's curator, Kurt Forster, to take part in the Biennale as part of the "Metamorph" exhibition in the Arsenale. The Venice Biennale is the world's largest architecture showcase, with over 100,000 visitors. We will be showing Landforms - Contemporary Scottish Architecture.
This features 17 innovative projects completed in Scotland since devolution in 1999, from huge projects like the Falkirk Wheel, Scottish Parliament and new Museum of Scotland, to the much smaller scale like the An Turas shelter on Tiree. The Venice show is being supported by the Scottish Executive and runs from 12 September to 7 November.

Being shown as part of the Scottish Executive's "Scotland in the Netherlands" programme, the exhibition will be opened by Frank McAveety MSP, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport.
This featured a smaller version of the exhibition that went to Venice Biennale. As part of the Scotland in the Netherlands programme, The Lighthouse also organised, in conjunction with the Netherlands Architecture Institute, a study trip looking at urban and waterfront regeneration for urban planners from Scotland's six cities.
