Building Connections

The Building Connections website is a major resource on the built environment for school pupils and their teachers.

www.buildingconnections.co.uk brings together educational resources, ideas and case studies from organisations, individuals, schools and local authorities across Scotland.  All content is appropriate for the curriculum in Scottish schools.

Building Connections is a resource for schools that is intended to enhance teaching and learning across the entire curriculum, with stimulating resources to support the development of programmes of study, group work and individual learning. The site provides practical tools for teachers to download and also practical studies for pupils of all ages and is one of the most comprehensive sources of information for schools on architecture in Europe.

Developed by The Lighthouse for the National Grid for Learning, Building Connections has been based on advice provided by a range of project partners in the field of education: including Learning and Teaching Scotland; as well as teachers in primary and secondary schools.

The development of the Building Connections website was funded by the Scottish Government. Building Connections and www.scottisharchitecture.com are both partnership initiatives with The Lighthouse taking forward the aims and objectives of the Scottish Government’s policy on architecture.
