ACCESS into architecture

The campaign is one of the most focused and far reaching programmes on architecture ever aimed at a public audience. Since its launch in 2001 it has brought to fruition a diverse range of initiatives, all of which have been driven by the commitment to increase interest in architecture and to enable wider accessibility to built environment issues in Scotland. It has, throughout, sought to promote excellence; to make connections and encourage collaboration between the profession and the public at all levels; to challenge ideas and to stimulate debate.

ACCESS into architecture has two key strands – firstly to celebrate and promote the best new architecture, young talent and emerging trends and topics for debate through exhibitions, publications, awards, digital resources and other events and secondly through a newly developed programme of networks of community engagement aimed at bringing the debate about architecture into the heart of local communities throughout Scotland.
